Taylor is one of our Neurorehabilitation Specialists and has been with us since 2014 after starting as an intern whilst at university. Taylor is the Centre Liaison and Paediatric Lead at the Hemel Hempstead site and has completed the NeuroRecovery Network Paediatric Locomotor Training course in Louisville, Kentucky.
Taylor has a BSc Hons in Sports Therapy and is currently studying for a Masters Degree in Public Health and Health promotion at Brunel University. Taylor is a qualified CrossFit Adaptive Coach and has Level 1 Certification in British Sign language.
Taylor currently plays netball for New Cambell in the Premier League and for the London Giants National Mixed Team. Taylor is also a member of Six Hills CrossFit where she trains regularly.
Stephen joined Neurokinex as an assistant trainer in 2014. Whilst working with us, he studied for his REPS level 3 Personal Training qualification and is now a full-time trainer here at Neurokinex. Prior to joining Neurokinex, Stephen’s background was in sports training. He was a lead coach for dodgeball and football teams and played football at a semi-professional level.
Stephen has adapted the skills from his previous experiences in competitive sports performance and coaching to benefit individuals with neurological conditions. He has had extensive hands-on experience on how to deliver activity based rehabilitation to individuals with all types of neurological conditions. Stephen brings a competitive spirit and positive mentality to the centre which helps his clients to fulfil their full potential.
Jamie graduated from the University of Winchester with a BSc in Sports and exercise science in 2018. Prior to joining Neurokinex, Jamie had been a sports coach teaching a variety of ages and abilities as well as collecting qualifications along the way.
Throughout university, he completed research in Rehabilitation focusing on Gait training and the use of Robotic gait orthosis, which sparked an interest. He is keen to continue to learn and develop in the neurorehabilitation field, as well as applying his knowledge and experience to sessions here at Neurokinex.
Darcey joined Neurokinex as an intern in 2019 as part of her undergraduate degree at the university of Hertfordshire. Darcey graduated with a first class BSc Hons in sports therapy in 2021 and has now joined our team full time. Darcey has previously worked with children and young people with physical disabilities, sparking her interest in working in the rehabilitation industry. Other experience includes massage, pitch-side first aid and rehabilitation within the university tennis team. Darcey is keen to apply her knowledge and experience into her sessions at Neurokinex and continue her development and learning in neuro rehabilitation.
Zak has recently completed his MSc in Sports Therapy from Bucks New University, High Wycombe and graduated with a BSc Hons in Strength and Conditioning in 2014 from St Mary’s University, Twickenham. Before joining Neurokinex, Zak worked with Watford Football Club and Oxford United as part of their Sport Science and Rehabilitation team. He spent 3 years working alongside the Royal Air Force as a Physical Training Instructor, working with day-to-day active service personnel, RAF Athletes, GB Athletes and those coming back from injuries. He now uses his knowledge and skills to build an effective rehabilitation program for all those who come through the Neurokinex doors.
Carlie graduated with a First Class MSc Research, in Sports and Exercise Rehabilitation in 2022, and a 2:1 in BSc Sports and Exercise Science in 2020 from the University of Leeds. Carlie has previously worked with individuals with neurological conditions and is qualified in sports massage. Carlie has played high level basketball where she was captain of the University of Leeds women’s first team and was part of the East of England Regional basketball squad for 3 years. Carlie’s passion for the neurorehabilitation field paired with her knowledge is what inspired her to become a member of the Neurokinex team.
Lucas joined Neurokinex in October 2022 after working as an intern at the Hemel Hempstead centre in 2017 as part of his clinical placement module. Lucas graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a BSc in Sports and Exercise Therapy in 2018 and later qualified as a REPS Level 3 Personal trainer. Lucas is currently studying a specialist PT diploma. Lucas has previously worked with Leeds Rhinos and Bradford FC U18 as a trainee sports therapist which included pitch side first aid and massage.
Tom (Lucas’ Brother) is a client of Neurokinex after sustaining a spinal cord injury in 2012, this sparked his interest in neurological conditions and after years of helping tom navigate his injury Lucas felt compelled to get more involved in the industry and help more individuals in similar positions.
Now Lucas aims to apply his experience and expertise into providing rehabilitation at Neurokinex whilst expanding his repertoire in the neurorehabilitation field.
Jenny Suggitt is an occupational therapist from Chicago, Illinois who joined Neurokinex in April 2016 as centre manager at Gatwick. Jenny received her Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2009 from Columbia University in New York City. Prior to joining Neurokinex, Jenny worked at renowned rehabilitation centres including the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and Shriners Hospital for Children. She has treated a variety of neurological, developmental and orthopaedic conditions with a professional interest in spinal cord injury. Jenny is also a trained aquatic therapist as well as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist with specialisation in Breast Cancer Rehabilitation.
Jenny has spent the majority of her career working with children from birth through full development across all levels of complexity and is responsible for the establishment and progression of our Neurokinex Kids paediatric programme. She has worked in a variety of settings including inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient therapy and paediatric sensory integration gyms.
Marilla Cameron is one of our Neurorehabilitation Specialists and has been with Neurokinex Gatwick since moving from Brisbane, Australia to London in 2016. Marilla is the Deputy Manager and Paediatric Lead at the Gatwick site. Marilla has a BSc in Clinical Exercise Physiology from the Queensland University of Technology and is currently studying a Graduate Certificate in Neurological Rehabilitation at Edith Cowan University. Marilla has an advanced teaching certificate in Reformer and Matwork Pilates. Marilla has also completed the Neurorecovery Network Advanced Locomotor Paediatric Mentorship Programme in Louisville, Kentucky.
Rocky graduated from St Mary’s University with a degree in Sports Rehabilitation (BSc) and joined the NK Gatwick team in August 2018. Before Neurokinex she has worked within rugby and rowing clubs providing injury management, rehabilitation and pitch side emergency first aid as well as running a private part-time massage and injury clinic.
Having completed her manual lymphatic drainage course in 2021 she enjoys using a combination of manual therapies to improve her clients’ well-being on top of their varied sessions at Neurokinex. With four years’ experience in kids summer sport camps, Rocky is delighted to work closely with both our paediatric and adult clients.
Outside of work Rocky is a keen rower at Shoreham Rowing and loves all things outdoors.
Lucy graduated from the University of Bath with a First Class degree in Sport and Exercise Science in 2020 following a placement year at Neurokinex. Lucy returned to Neurokinex in August 2020 using the biomechanical and physiological principles from her degree to tailor sessions to both adult and paediatric clients. In her placement year, Lucy found a passion for working with children and sparked her interest in paediatric neurorehabilitation. Lucy has a keen interest in rounders, chairing her University team and looks to continue bringing her passion for sport to her sessions at Neurokinex.
Gemma graduated from the University of Bath in 2022 with a First Class Masters in Sport and Exercise Science. During this, she completed a placement year at Porsche Human Performance, working with a range of adults, young people, athletes and health and wellbeing clients towards their various goals. Gemma applies the practical experience from her placement year and knowledge of human physiology from her Masters in her role at Neurokinex. Her background in gymnastics coaching consolidated her love of working with children and subsequent interest in paediatric rehabilitation. Outside of work, Gemma loves keeping active, especially in the outdoors, and wants to bring this passion for activity into her sessions at Neurokinex.
Jessica graduated from the University of Bath in 2022 with a MSci degree in Sport and Exercise Science. She previously worked as a swimming teacher where she developed a passion for working with children and witnessing their progress. Keen to pursue this further, she joined Neurokinex where she is now applying her knowledge of exercise physiology and clinical biomechanics to fit the needs of those with neurological conditions. She enjoys swimming, Bollywood dance and has recently started yoga.
Laurence graduated from the University of Leeds in 2021 with a degree in Sport and Exercise Science (Ind). Laurence returned to Neurokinex in 2022, having completed an internship year at the Bristol centre in 2019. Before re-joining the Neurokinex team, Laurence worked for the NHS in a health and well-being role. He also worked as an intern and member of staff in the University of Leeds Strength and Conditioning department, allowing him to work with athletes in the GB Rowing World Class START program and sports such as American Football, Bobsleigh, Hockey and Kickboxing to name a few. As a trainer at Neurokinex, Laurence uses his knowledge in motor control and biomechanics from his degree alongside strength and conditioning principles in his delivery of therapy. Laurence is also a keen rugby player and boulders in his spare time.
Becki graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2006 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy and later completed a MSc. She is registered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, an HCPC member in addition to being a member of ACPIN, MASCIP, APCP and POGP. She has trained at the prestigious Frazier Rehabilitation Institute, USA on their paediatric programme.
Becki is a highly qualified complex care and movement difficulty specialist, physiotherapeutic clinical lead and team manager. With clinical experience and expertise across paediatrics and adult services. She employs a diverse range of therapeutic practices which focus on whole body rehabilitation from multiple pathological causes. Clinically, she is interested in how integrative functional nutrition and precision care improves lives for people living with complex health conditions. She is passionate about empowering individuals and their families to seek and obtain all that they require/desire/deserve in their health journey and shaping better health outcomes both in practice and via research.
Becki has specialised in neurology where she has worked in acute NHS hospitals, NHS and private out-patient clinics and specialist NHS regional rehabilitation units. She has worked with stable neurological conditions, progressive neurological conditions, acquired neurological conditions, spinal cord injuries (traumatic and non-traumatic), brain injuries from birth or acquired and has experience in pre and post neurological surgery, genetic disorders across all age spectrums. Her area of clinical interest is complex paediatric care.
In her therapeutic toolbox Becki has furthered specialised in clinical and integrative functional nutrition. She provides patient-centred, evidenced informed nutritional care that intelligently combines integrative functional nutrition, lifestyle interventions and movement therapies alongside conventional care to better support individuals’ quality of life, improve resilience, health optimisation and improved training outcomes for those living with chronic conditions.
Becki is a mum of three who has had a lifelong passion for horses. She continues to enjoy horse riding, working on her own personal fitness journey with resistance training, yoga and holistic practices.
Ellie graduated from the University of Bath in 2021 with a First-Class degree in Sport and Exercise Science and a published journal article as a co-author/contributor. As part of her degree, in 2019 she completed a year-long placement year at Neurokinex Gatwick. It was throughout this period that she developed a keen interest in continuing work in the field of neurorehabilitation and seized the chance to join the Bristol team full time. Ellie is particularly skilled working with paediatric clients. Prior to joining Neurokinex, her background was in sports coaching and she worked as a volunteer trampoline gymnastics coach for six years, coaching a range of ages and abilities. She is excited to begin applying core principles and content from her degree alongside her previous experience to benefit both adult and paediatric clients. Ellie is enjoying the opportunity to learn and develop within the neurorehabilitation field at Neurokinex, alongside continuing her studies to gain further knowledge and insight.
Emily graduated from the University of West of England, Bristol in 2022 with a degree in Sports Rehabilitation. Emily joined the NK Bristol team at the start of 2024. Before Neurokinex, she worked at a brain injury hospital facilitating rehabilitation sessions to patients who had a range of conditions. She also worked as the head club therapist of a rugby club, providing injury management, rehabilitation and pitch side emergency first aid. Emily is looking forward to bringing her knowledge from her degree and previous work experiences to benefit clients in their training sessions. She is also excited to continue her development and learning in neurorehabilitation.
In her spare time, Emily plays hockey and enjoys cold water swimming.
Ben graduated from the University of the West of England (UWE) in 2023 with a degree in Sport Rehabilitation. In his final year of study, he undertook work at the Neurokinex Bristol centre. It was during this period that Ben developed his passion for Neurorehabilitation and opted to return full time to Neurokinex Bristol following his graduation. Ben utilises his knowledge in Biomechanics and applied anatomy from his degree in his therapy sessions. He has been training in martial arts for over 15 years and competes both nationally and internationally. His extensive training means he can use his personal experience of strength and conditioning to enable his clients to get the most out of their sessions.
